Welcome to my Genealogy Blog.

Why not spend a minute or two at my Blog to see if there is anything interesting to read. Perhaps I've written something about your ancestor, gave a hint on how to locate something, provided a different way to do research, or just gave a glimpse into the world of genealogy research through words or photos. I try to make it light and enjoyable.

My roots are from New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire), New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Wyoming, and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada.

Please check out the labels on the right side for articles. The header tabs at the top are a work in progress.

I also have a blog called Seeing New England. Why not visit it, to get a feeling for the area.

Tombstone Tuesday - William Pabodie h/o Elisabeth Alden

William Pabodie
Born:  1616 England
Died:  December 13, 1707 at Little Compton, Newport Co., Rhode Island

His wife was Elisabeth Alden, daughter of John Alden and Priscilla Mullens.  Her gravestone photos were among the first I posted. William's tombstone is next to Elisabeth's (the large monument).
They were my 9th great-grandparents.
They are both buried at the Old Commons Cemetery, Little Compton, Newport Co., Rhode Island

I might have known! Are you keeping track of our shared lines? You can copy them if you like. Thanks Wendy for writing.

I BEST tombstones are in New England. The art work on William's is spectacular!

Thanks Linda, I appreciate your mentioning that. But, some tombstones are made of sandstone and are crumbling away, so I never know what I'm going to find.

They are my 9th grandparents as well! And not too long ago I discovered another distant connection with you (but forget who - you posted a line a month or two ago... Skinner, Hodges, Freeman perhaps?)

It's great to see a photo of the gravestone!

Wendy, it's nice to have another cousin, and I'm glad you share this well-known family. Skinner is probably the other family we share, out of Malden and CT.
