Welcome to my Genealogy Blog.

Why not spend a minute or two at my Blog to see if there is anything interesting to read. Perhaps I've written something about your ancestor, gave a hint on how to locate something, provided a different way to do research, or just gave a glimpse into the world of genealogy research through words or photos. I try to make it light and enjoyable.

My roots are from New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire), New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Wyoming, and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada.

Please check out the labels on the right side for articles. The header tabs at the top are a work in progress.

I also have a blog called Seeing New England. Why not visit it, to get a feeling for the area.

Bits of News

In USA Today, the daily newspaper, carries the Prime-time Nielsen ratings for television shows on Wednesday for the previous week. The show "Who Do You Think You Are" had 6.2 million viewers and ranked at #46. The show dropped a million viewers from the previous week.

Madonna and Ellen DeGeneres are 11th cousins, so says USA Today and Ancestry. Common ancestor, Martin Aucoin. Update, I saw The Ellen Show this morning and she mentioned other well-known people she is related to. And tried to pronounce the New England Historical and Genealogical Society, also stated they had already done her genealogy.

Barb, I caught that part of the "Ellen" show and I loved how her genealogy was "done"! Is there such a thing? I'm distantly related to some of the people on her chart (Lady Di, Richard Geer, etc) but I didn't see my face on the poster, LOL!

Oh no, I have Princess Diana as well, so yet we share that one too. It was a funny segment, but I don't think the audience "got it" they thought it was a joke, and she was serious.
