Today is a state holiday and the state offices, many schools and businesses are closed. But it is far from boring in Boston. Today was the 114th running of the Boston Marathon. It was my first trip in to see it, and it was because my nephew was running, and he completed it. Although we were packed like sardines in the city, I think the 28,000+ runners and all visitors and press had a wonderful time. The day began very cool, but it warmed up nicely and it seemed that everybody was in a slow hurry to get out of town. We relaxed and drove through Cambridge, Arlington, and of course Lexington.

Muzzey Jr. High School is now used as housing.

Nice day for it. I caught some of the reenactment in Lexington on New England cable News, Lots of redcoats.
Les, thanks for the comment. It sure was busy up this way. Nice day for all activities. I saw several dressed as minutemen, but couldn't stop to take a picture.
Isn't Marathon Monday fun in Boston? My cousin's wife ran last year and it was fun to stand on Boylston St. near the finish line. It's more fun when you have a special someone to cheer on. All the kids, including my daughter, call it Marathon Monday, and seem to forget that it is Patriot's Day and that is why they have the day off. Just like Evacuation Day, they all think it's a day off because it's St. Patrick's Day in Boston!
