At long last, I went May 1st with my husband, first to visit Albany, then to Normans Kill. This wasn't a long trip (about three hours one way), it was just to a new place. Since I had posted many of my Ten Eyck / TenEyck names for Saturday Surname the same day, I thought it appropriate to finally make trip, which was a very full day for us.
View of Albany, and not a car in sight!

Albany's annual tulip festival is next weekend, but we checked out the flowers a week early, good thing, they were in full bloom on the 85 degree day. A few photos for the flower lovers (could Carol be one of them?).

Carol is one of the flower lovers! Those are incredible! Beautiful flowers, beautiful photos!
Oh, aren't you lucky you could go early! And you had such good weather, too.
Carol and Heather, I am thinking we all should have a flower blog! Carol, yes, you are the one I was thinking about.
Gorgeous flowers, great story, and great weather, too!
Wow, nice! Love the story, the river and the flowers!
Thank you Michelle, I was glad to be able to put all three topics together. The flower pictures I took today are in your city!
The last of our tulips here in Virginia has faded, but it's nice to see them going strong up north!
It looks like you had a perfect day for visiting Albany. The tulips are beautiful.
Greta, I think this is about the last of them for some of us. Two days of reaching 85 can shorten their lives. Darn. What is the next flowering plant?
I love the idea of the flower blog (trees, landscapes, etc.)! We could take turns. And there would be enough photos to carry us through the winter months.
Heather, I've been wondering where else I could go to take pictures. I don't think weeds would cut it!
I love the idea of the flower blog..
