Welcome to my Genealogy Blog.

Why not spend a minute or two at my Blog to see if there is anything interesting to read. Perhaps I've written something about your ancestor, gave a hint on how to locate something, provided a different way to do research, or just gave a glimpse into the world of genealogy research through words or photos. I try to make it light and enjoyable.

My roots are from New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire), New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Wyoming, and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada.

Please check out the labels on the right side for articles. The header tabs at the top are a work in progress.

I also have a blog called Seeing New England. Why not visit it, to get a feeling for the area.

The Librarian's Guide to Genealogical Research -- Examples

Friday's post was about a book I've used many times and I recommended it to researchers, mainly for some unique forms. In my last paragraph, I indicated I wrote to the publisher to share some examples with you. He responded today, and his reply was I could, as long as I print the credit, provided by the publisher.

Example 1 is a checklist for Genealogical Research 1950-2000.
Example 2 is a checklist of Personal Genealogy Sources
Example 3 is a Federal Census Chronology for following a person in several censuses from 1790 to 1860.

Thanks for mentioning this book and showing us some of the forms. The checklist for personal genealogical sources is the most extensive list I've ever seen.

Thanks Nancy. Your comment makes my effort to get the permission worth the effort. Enjoy.

I am very impressed. One of the libraries in a nearby town has a copy. The next time I'm over that way I'm going to stop and take a look at it.
