Although, I haven't yet ordered a flip-pal (see 2-part blog review by Susan of Long Lost Relatives), I did subscribe to GenealogyBank thanks to Greta of Greta's Genealogy Bog and thanks to Elizabeth of Little Bytes of Life who mentioned the half price special at Footnote, I subscribed immediately before the deal expired. I've learned one thing from my blog friends, if somebody orders something, then we all seem to want it...I could go broke soon. But, it is so much fun.
A follow-up on my post about Historical Societies, this post now contains more photos of Historical Societies in New England. Recently, I took additional pictures, they are from Massachusetts: Sawyer House (The Bolton Historical Society), and from Keene New Hampshire is the Cheshire County Historical Society.

I bet the Historical Society of Cheshire County holds some treasures for me. Every summer I plan to head that direction but it never seems to work out.
Kudos, Barbara! You've perked me up as I sit here surrounded by the stuff I'm trying to get out into the world. Maybe that is a light at the end of the tunnel and not the train.
Barbara - Congrats on finishing up your project! Thanks also for the info on flip-pal. Looks interesting. Right now I'm kind of interested in getting a hand-held scanner for scanning things at the library that are too delicate to photocopy. City directories and the like. You're right, we learn so much from our blogging buddies. I too recently subscribed to GenealogyBank and Footnote and got good deals on both. I also like the photos of the historical societies, BTW.

I have felt your pain with the scanning of photos of tombstones. I have finished the scanning and continue to scan photos of people, places and things to use on my blog. Congrats on completing your task. I have enjoyed your tombstone posts and am usually envious of the older Puritan ones in your family.
Yeah, that Flip-Pal goes on my next year's Christmas list; wand for documents, flip-pal for photos. My husband laughs at how geeky I've become. It's nice to have goals and plans from year to year - you really have an accomplishment to be proud of with your cemetery stone project! Now you've got me in that "looking back" mood!

Linda, Greta and Susan, thank you for your comments. Susan, no list please. Greta, looking forward will work too, but I am not usually goal orientated, it was my only goal for the year, but good luck to you. Linda, I'm fortunate to have a lot of oldies of mine in the area.
