Welcome to my Genealogy Blog.

Why not spend a minute or two at my Blog to see if there is anything interesting to read. Perhaps I've written something about your ancestor, gave a hint on how to locate something, provided a different way to do research, or just gave a glimpse into the world of genealogy research through words or photos. I try to make it light and enjoyable.

My roots are from New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire), New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Wyoming, and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada.

Please check out the labels on the right side for articles. The header tabs at the top are a work in progress.

I also have a blog called Seeing New England. Why not visit it, to get a feeling for the area.

Artist at Work -- Wordless Wednesday

My grandfather, Earle K. Bishop, age about 85.

A few hours after this was posted, Carol B. Stevens of Reflections from the Fence sent me two different images of the above. In her magical way, she was able to create much sharper and nicer images of my grandfather. What a nice surprise, and thank you my friend.

Oh, that's a great photo! Do you still have this painting? Is it the family house?

Thank you both. It was taken probably with a Brownie type camera. Anyway, Carol thank you bunches for improving upon it, and Heather, no I don't have it and he was in his back yard, with a small photo of the house, probably doing it for a friend. I had one of his beautiful house, but 15 yrs. ago, gave it to the current owners, with the stipulation that the painting always remain with the house. Owners were excited.

What a wonderful picture - and a great fix-up! There's a real "Norman Rockwell" feel to the photo.

I never thought this was anything special, you could see how dull it was before Carol got her hands on it. A "Norman Rockwell" feel, wow Greta thanks for that and all the other compliments ladies.

This is an incredible and special photo (and that was before Carol got her hands on it and did her magic). I think Carol has just extended its life by at least several decades.

Wow.
