Welcome to my Genealogy Blog.

Why not spend a minute or two at my Blog to see if there is anything interesting to read. Perhaps I've written something about your ancestor, gave a hint on how to locate something, provided a different way to do research, or just gave a glimpse into the world of genealogy research through words or photos. I try to make it light and enjoyable.

My roots are from New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire), New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Wyoming, and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada.

Please check out the labels on the right side for articles. The header tabs at the top are a work in progress.

I also have a blog called Seeing New England. Why not visit it, to get a feeling for the area.

They Met at a College

My father in Evanston, Illinois about to attend Union College in New York.
1938
Written on the back of the photo, by my grandmother.

The lady on the end was my mother's good friend. They saw each other for many years.

1942
I have no idea whose writing this is, but I suspect it was my grandmother's.

How different students dress today. Can you imagine seeing a male student on campus in a coat and tie. Even back in my day on campus, I often wore a dress and low heels to class.

It is fun looking back to their old days. In a way, I wished people still dressed like that, but this is a different era.

Don't you just wish every snapshot had such a good identification on the back? Your granny did good!
