Wow, that stone is so well preserved! Is it possible for one that is so old or do you think it is a replication?
Marian, I just don't know. Can't wait for you to get there, you'll love it.
It is a replica. The original stone is located in the cottage behind that Denison Homestead
Beautiful! Your grandfather's headstone made use of ever single inch of space! Love it.
P.S. The view of the cemetery on top of your page reminds me of the Tomac in Greenwich CT. Almost as if the ancestors are wearing hoods and standing together waiting for Judgement Day. http://www.ctgenweb.org/county/cofairfield/pages/cemetery/cm_grnwch/tomacgreenwhch1.htm
Hello cousin :-)
I am descended from George Denison as well - 9th great grandfather on my father's side, and he is also my 11th great uncle on my mother's side. Thanks for sharing!
Maureen, I just took the photo three weeks ago, and thought it was the perfect header for me. Thank you for writing. We have been in contact with our Meads before, like 10 years ago!
Elizabeth, how exciting. I love it when you are related to yourself via both parent's ancestors.
Looks like you had a good day in Hartford !
