Barb, I have an aunt who is a Stebbins. She married my mother's brother. I had read a lil about the Stebbins family that was present at the Deefield Massacre in 1704. Are you connected to this family at all? I'm wondering if my aunt is, and would someday like to research her line, if I can ever find the time : )
I'm sure it is the same family. The above Rowland's granddaughters are my directs, so I don't have the line for long. There are a lot of Stebbins in Deerfield, I remember hearing about them yrs. ago. Here is a link I just found. http://thestebbins.com/ancestry/rowland-stebbins-history/
Thanks for the link Barb : ) If and when I ever have the time (thinking I better make time), I will sit down with my aunt and interview her in regard to her Stebbins : )
Cool! Not only are you and I connected through Samuel Abbe, but I'm also a descendant of Rowland Stebbins (Thomas Stebbins and Hannah Wright -> Samuel Wright Stebbins -> Thomas Stebbins -> Abner Stebbins -> Hedsidiah Stebbins -> Betsy Stebbins married Benjamin Barrus, and it was Barrus all down to my mother from there).
Hi Joypop, I see we are related twice, once through Abbe and now Stebbins. And, I bet there will be a few more lines. It's always exciting to meet another cousin. Thanks for writing.
