I was determined to stay longer to see what else they had and to talk to an older man looking at books in the stacks. I wondered if he was a genea-blogger because I recognized his flip-pal on the table. What a delightful conversation we had, and no he didn't even know what blogs were. But he knew about doing genealogy, the old fashioned way. And, he owned the flip-pal, something I don't have.
When it was time to leave, I assumed my husband would want to check out the cemetery, knowing that his ancestors were buried there. Nope, no interest whatsoever! What kind of genealogist is he? This is perplexing, since he loves going with me on my searches.
So there we have it, he doesn't plan, doesn't look around in the library and doesn't do cemeteries. Yep, we do things differently. But he was happy. I imagine a number of people are like him.

We all do things slightly differently, but I'm with you, I'd have been straight off to the cemetery! :-) Jo
Cute story. I'm glad you were both able to meet your goals. Ditto what imagespast said!
This made me smile, I have just started helping out at my local history centre and could spend days just looking through all the books they have. Was on a grave search today and the look of relief on my partners face was tangible when the second stone I looked at was the one I was looking for lol
OH, dear, well, at least yours DOES some genealogy. Man does, well, none. He does however, put up with my insisting I must go to this library and that and this cemetery and that and this church or that. He did like hugging his ggg grandparents headstones after he had been in the church in England where they were married.
I kinda like that we all do our research with a bit of a fresh approach! LOL
Although I know we all do genealogy our own way, I would have thought after many years, he (Bill) would have learned my way, joking of course. Thanks all for your comments.
Susan, I'm glad you found the stone so quickly.
