A Quick Message

When Brenda of Journey To The Past wrote her piece today called, What Will the Six Months Bring in the World of Blogging? I read with interest and responded to her immediately. Brenda and I have communicated via email since last spring. Seems she and I have the same problem, and while I can't help her, I can help myself. Just last night I moaned over the fact that I have over 1,500 emails in my Gmail account that I either need to delete or reread or move to an appropriate inbox, have many queries to respond to, a nice research project with Claire, who is related, and who took over 160 cemetery photos in various cemeteries in New York (and I still haven't gotten a handle on this project), and another huge project to be printed and given to several libraries. There are more projects, as well as a lot of entering from papers copied two years ago.

My response to Brenda was, "Thank you Brenda. Now I know it isn't just me...I can't do it all, blogging, research, reading fb and replying in a timely manner to emails. The list goes on. However, the thing that all the other things is based on, the research just isn't getting done. Now, I have made up my mind...I am going to quit blogging for a month and see what happens."

What better time of the year? Many people think of Labor Day almost like New Year's Day, the beginning of a fresh new start. I have a lot of Surname Saturdays, Tombstone Tuesday and a few Follow Fridays already done, so there won't be a huge change there for a while. I will continue to read blogs, but cut way back on responding. It is probably a temporary thing, at least I hope so, because I really love all aspects of blogging.

Another love of mine is flowers. My husband and I have spent at least one day a week this summer going to many gardens around New England. I began a blog Flowers From My Area which shows just that, gardens and flowers. I hope to do a blurb with this blog once the foliage season is over. I invite you to view it.  They have links to the gardens, and the dates I posted are the dates I went there.
