Will of Daniel Wright -- 1794 of Connecticut

Daniel Wright is my 6th great-grandfather. Below is a copy of his will and my best efforts in transcribing it.

Date 1794  No. 3968


In the Name of God Amen I Daniel Wright of Durham in the County of New Haven in the State of Connecticut being of sound Mind and Memory and calling to mind the Mortality of my Body Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the Hand of God and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial at the Direction of my Executor nothing Doubting? but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God And touching with wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life. I give devise and dispose of the Same in the following Manner and Form Viz:


Imprimis. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Deborah one third part of my personal Estate forever also the Use and Improvement of one third Part of my real estate during her natural life.


Item  I give and bequeath to my Daughter Remembrance the wife of Eliakim Strong Jun. and her heirs forever to the value of five pounds of my personal estate at inventory Price---


Item  I give and devise to my two sons Ashur Wright and Samuel Wright their heirs and assigned forever all the residue of my Estate both real and personal to be equally divided between them--


Moreover I do hereby nominate and appoint my Son Ashur Wright Executor of this my last Will and Testament Declaring this and no other to be my last Will and Testament   In witness where of I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the 8th Day of August Anno Domini 1782
