Appleton Street to Central Plaza, Photos from the week of November 14, 2021.

I tried to think of something on this street that many of you would know. So this is how I got there from Westford to Chelmsford Streets.

The Lord Overpass is pretty much flat now from Chelmsford Street to the beginning of 287 Appleton Street. Durkin's is on the left. A shot below to look back.

Views down the street were taken on two days this week. Some are in different angles because of the sun. But, you know where you are.

The Owl Diner is still there on the right, after the old overpass.

Elliott Street on the left, I took another piture of the well-known hot dog restaurant, made famous by Ed McMahon, Johnny Carson's sidekick.

It seems that Haffner's and the Salvation Army Headquarters has been there forever.

The Verizon Company has offices in one of these buildings. In the past, one building used to be the telephone company.  Maybe somebody can offer me some correct details.
Of course this caught my eye, the big white X on the red sign.

Not sure if you can read the plans.

I've always loved the stone end wall.
At the end of this row are a group of trees shading the nicest little parking lot. You do have to pay, but with all the times I've been there, it's never been full. It is on the corner of Appleton and Gorham, right across from Danas.

Gorham Street, with the parking lot. Dana's across the street.

On Gorham, facing Central Street.

Appleton Street, almost to Church Street.
On Appleton Street, there is a Dunkin' shop on the left, Church Street ahead.

Church Street. I walked through the parking lot, it brought back many memories of years past when I lived nearby. I did my shopping at Stop and Shop, Zayre's, and used the laundromat when I ate at Friendly's restaurant. There was also an original Dunkin Donut shop, I remember they made them there, an electronic store, I think it was Radio Shack.

The old Stop and Shop is now a gym.
In this area was where the four businesses I discusssed were located.
The old Zayres now had another business. I'll have to check it out.
Walking back, the road design has changed, all cars go toward the right and need to decide which of the four e they want to go on.
