The Swamp Lock and Dam
The Swamp Locks and Dam in Lowell, Massachusetts, is a historic, 15-foot-high, 105-foot-long concrete gravity dam built in 1823. Located on the Pawtucket Canal, this double-lock complex provides water control, fire protection, and flood risk reduction, with significant historical significance to the region's industrial heritage. I have taken many photos of this triple joined building for quite a few years and still haven't seen it's completion. When I talked to a construction worker, I was told there would be a few apartments and a beauty salon but that was years ago.
