The Life From The Roots blog topics have changed several times since I began this blog in 2009. I initially wrote only about the family history I had been working on for 20 years. Years later, I was into visiting gardens, historical homes, churches, libraries that had genealogical collections, historical societies, war memorials, and travel/tourism places. I also enjoy posting autographs and photos of famous people I've met or have seen.

Along with my New England roots, other areas include New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada.

Please check out the labels on the right side for topics (please note, they need work). Below the labels and pageviews is a listing of my top nine posts, according to Google. Four of them pertain to Lowell, MA. These posts change often because they are based on what people are reading.

Fletcher and Dutton Streets area---The Old and the New (Nov. 18, 2021)

The Old and the New. There will be changes in this area, I saw three pieces of property for sale within a few blocks.

I parked at this shopping area at the intersection of Dutton and Perkins. There are 1-2 restaurants there. It is next to the Western Canal Walkway, shown below. (Photo above taken in 2019.)

I walked around the building and came out at Fletcher St. with Dutton Street on the left and right (at Dunkin's).

F. S. Perkins Machinist, on Fletcher Street (see permit at the end).

Looking up on Fletcher Street. The park and Suffolk Street on the right.

Suffolk Street area was very pretty.

I'm on Fletcher Street and crossed over to take some pictures.

From Dunkins' (2019 photo), I'm at the intersection of Fletcher and Dutton Streets. To the left is McKittriks Industrial Supply. Now closed. It is a huge building.

Facing  51 Fletcher St., Furey's Cafe had the below sign posted. And, a white X on top.

Facing Dunkin's and Fletcher Street.

The photo above was taken on June 22, 2019.

I walked around the back to the drive-thru and was beside the Pawtucket Canal where I took the below pictures.

Depending on where I stand, I could get rid of the crane.

The Dunkin DriveThru.

Permit for 60 Fletcher Street. For the stone building.
