Georgia O'Keeffe, My 4th Cousin Once Removed, See Her Ancestry

Over three years ago, I posted "Georgia O'Keeffe and Me" a short piece about my discovery that Georgia O'Keeffe and I share the same ancestry. I am now expanding the genealogy line.. Since, my earlier Field lineage is very long I decided to begin with register generation No. 2, and #6 is our shared generation for Jeremiah Field Ten Eyck.

The shared Field and TenEyck / Ten Eyck lines are indicated in green (my line) and red (her line). We break off at register generation No. 5.

I am very interested in her Wyckoff line since I have a brick wall (and now have about 100 Wyckoffs in my tree, all connected to other lines, but still not giving me a direct line).

Another discovery is the fact that Georgia was born in Sun Prairie, Dane Co., Wisconsin in 1887, which happens to be where my 3rd great-grandfather lived for many years prior to his 1879 death.

While commenting to another blogger, John Tew, about business cards, I wanted to show him what I did for mine, the company I used, and what I learned. I also learned you can't post a photo into a blog comment, so I had to compose a post, this post, in order to show the business card.

I've been using business cards since 1999 when I attended a national conference. Back then, I printed my own, putting in my name, email address and a list of surnames. All one color, one side, and nothing fancy. From there I went to Staples and the format was pretty much the same, except that the surnames were on the opposite side. A few years ago, I discovered the Moo  Company (www.moo.com) after seeing a card that Heather Rojo used. I love the fact that I can use my own photos. Below is the back with my signature blog header, and the other side, a photo taken at a Concord, MA cemetery, and a little information.

If I need to order more, I'll make a few changes. First, I'll add my facebook address, add Lowell for my city and make sure my blog address is correct! I forgot the www, it's kind of embarrassing to tell people it's wrong, even though if they type the below, they will still reach me. Be sure to double check before ordering.

** Update: Pertaining to the paragraph above, I just ordered a box of 50 cards on 9/7/18. And, I didn't change a thing. I didn't want my facebook address or my city listed. Turned out, my blog address is just fine, didn't need the www after all. I received a special deal today, and that is what prompted me to reorder. However, I didn't want 100 cards (like I ordered the first time), so I paid regular price, plus shipping for $30.99. At the bottom of this post is the advertising page I received from them today.

The card is a little glossy and people, non-genealogists also, are impressed with this style, rounded corners and clarity of the photos. The nice thing is you can put anything you want on to your card, like all your urls,  phone numbers, etc. Make it stand out, people will look at it.

The Pabodie line is another old Massachusetts line of mine. The emigrant ancestor, William Pabodie was my 9^th great-grandfather. Mother and daughters -- Wordless Wednesday

There are three photos of my 2nd great-grandmother, aged 21-22. At first glance, I thought they were all taken the same day. But I noticed she was wearing the same dress, but different collars. Children, are in two of them, and appear to be about the same age.

The three photographs belong to David, my 3rd cousin once removed. They are used with his permission. We found each other online about 12 years ago.

The Tylers of Andover, MA -- Tombstone Tuesday

Recently, I received an email from Lori, "I really enjoyed the info on your genealogy blog. My maternal side are Tylers, from Job Tyler who was married to Margaret Bradstreet. And from there, we go to the Bradstreets / Dudleys and up the chain to the throne. Another long-lost cousin many times removed. Lori" She also mentioned the Tylers lived in Andover, Massachusetts.

After a little investigating, I discovered there was a memorial marker for Job Tyler, as he was the First Andover (MA) Settler, in the Old North Parish Burying Ground located near me. But, I've been to that cemetery at least 20 times, and never saw it. Why? Because it is at the back of the cemetery, in the area where the grounds were recently cleared away, and it seems to be the only stone that is facing the opposite direction (West) of all the others. It pays to walk around every cemetery stone!

A Puzzlement

Interest in a redcoat, Bette Davis and a doll seem to be the only things people are checking out on my blog this past week. And I'm curious as to why the doll and Bette Davis's house in Lowell, MA are suddenly of interest. Neither is a recent posts.

The chart below shows four of my top five page-views as of today. The first two is easy to know why, because Dick Eastman posted my blog on his newsletter, regarding the Revolutionary War Red Coat. But why are two simple photos of Bette Davis #3 and The Doll #4

Does anybody have an idea? If so, I'd really love to hear it. Does anybody think I should post this question to the sites #3 and #4?
