The Swamp Lock and Dam
The Swamp Locks and Dam in Lowell, Massachusetts, is a historic, 15-foot-high, 105-foot-long concrete gravity dam built in 1823. Located on the Pawtucket Canal, this double-lock complex provides water control, fire protection, and flood risk reduction, with significant historical significance to the region's industrial heritage. The below photo was taken in October 1910.Old photos belonging to The Library of Congress may be seen by clicking on their site.

I have taken many photos of this triple joined building for quite a few years and still haven't seen it's completion. When I talked to a construction worker, I was told there would be a few apartments and a beauty salon but that was years ago.
I didn't take the picture with the car and a ladder.
