Welcome to my Genealogy Blog.
Why not spend a minute or two at my Blog to see if there is anything interesting to read. Perhaps I've written something about your ancestor, gave a hint on how to locate something, provided a different way to do research, or just gave a glimpse into the world of genealogy research through words or photos. Great picture Barbara! Very nostalgic. The first thing that ran through my mind was "why have we traded the learning of useful crafts for playing dress up and hair styling with Barbie dolls?".
What a lovely photo, Barbara! Brings back all kinds of memories. I think I even may have had a similar dress back when I was about that age! :)
WOW, what a fab photo!
Fabulous picture, Barbara! Absolutely wonderful. It brings back so many memories - you may inspire a blog post with this one.
Love that photo...both of my grandmothers and my great grandmother would have been "pleased as punch" to see a little girl practicing her "hand work."
Thank you everybody. I didn't this this was that special, but I appreciate your positive comments. I believe I was probably working on a Brownie project.
One thing I like about it is the intense concentration you are giving to the project. I also like that it's not posed. I don't have many photos where the people aren't looking at the camera.
Are you still into crafts? I came into it later in life....now, genealogy takes up all my craft time. Great photo.
This is an amazing photo! I have so many embroidery projects - including 2 full size quilts. Sadly, I put up my needles and thread when the internet came along.
I also love this - reminds me of when my mother taught me embroidery (because one of my teachers said that I "spent too much time with books").
How neat your mom thought to capture the moment. I wish I had with my sewing daughter. Neat picture. Not one you would see a lot of today.
This takes me back to my childhood...ok, and yesterday. LOL.
I had no idea this would bring back memories to you ladies. No, I no longer do any crafts, but would like to, if I could give up genealogy! Thanks for the comments.
