My blog has been changed to make it more appealing for those who have New England ancestors and want to see the area through photos. Things I’ll include are typical white New England churches, libraries showing their genealogical collection, historical societies, cemeteries, war memorials, in general, anything to do with history.

For four years I’ve blogged mostly about my personal genealogy in New England (Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire), New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Wyoming, and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada. I still will, can’t forget my own roots.

Please check out the labels on the right side for articles. The header tabs at the top are a work in progress.

Have you seen the pamphlet put out by the Denison Society (I think) about George Denison and Ann Borodell? I have one in my files from a long ago Stonington visit.

Susan, no I haven't seen the pamphlet (I'm not a member of the Society, nor have I been to Stonington)...which isn't that far from me. Maybe next year. You have this line as well, are we cousins?

Stonington's worth a visit for many reasons. It was on my summer migration path from CT to Cape Cod for many years and made a great stopping point. The Denison house is fun and it has a superb cemetery, too.

We may be cousins, but I think probably not. "My" Denison line runs to the first wife of my great something grandfather, but I'm reasonably sure I descend from his as yet unproven 2nd wife. Pity because I was quite taken with the Denisons, Palmers and Averys. I'll email you regarding the pamphlet.

Oh my! This is quite interesting. I am descended from George and Ann Borodell Denison, through Robert, Sr. whose 2nd wife was Dorothy Stanton, daughter of Sarah and Thomas.

Gets confusing in places. I'm linking this post to my blog for future reference. Glad to have found you, Barbara. I was born in MA. ~joyce

Joyce, that post was done not quite 4 years ago, and I often make changes in genealogy tree, that don't get reflected on my older posts. Better double check or be aware of that.
On another note, I did take a photo of George's cemetery stone in Hartford, which you might enjoy seeing (not original tho). http://lifefromtheroots.blogspot.com/2011/06/tombstone-tuesday-capt-george-denison.html

Thank you, Barbara. I will check it out.

I have seen a good bit from Stonington on Midge's blog, and I have been to the Denison Museum, briefly last summer. Plan to go back with much more info. I've been working on this line for over 20 years, not knowing until recently about George Denison (one N, instead of two).

I didn't mean your information was confusing. My line is confusing with the same surnames on both sides.

Thanks so much for responding, and for your posts. ~Joyce
