The Life From The Roots blog topics have changed several times since I began this blog in 2009. I initially wrote only about the family history I had been working on for 20 years. Years later, I was into visiting gardens, historical homes, churches, libraries that had genealogical collections, historical societies, war memorials, and travel/tourism places. I also enjoy posting autographs and photos of famous people I've met or have seen.

Along with my New England roots, other areas include New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada.

Please check out the labels on the right side for topics (please note, they need work). Below the labels and pageviews is a listing of my top nine posts, according to Google. Four of them pertain to Lowell, MA. These posts change often because they are based on what people are reading.

Figure passes
 _____

In the passing of Mr. Adams,
nearly the last of the residents of
that generation, has passed from
the community. Mr. Adams has
been remarkably well this past
fall, walking to the village and do-
ing some chores about the house,
so that his death came as a shock
to the family and friends. He
passed away at his late home on
South Academy street about five
o’clock on November 27, 1926.

Mr. Adams was the son of Hor-
ace and Betsy Cox Adams and

his uncle, Amos Adams who own-
ed the present Irving E. Dutton
Farm. On November 8, 1859 he
was united in marriage with Miss
Maria Cox and commenced house-
keeping on the Arnold Cox farm,
which he purchased. He was, with
his wife, active members of the
West Middlebury Baptist church,
retaining his membership there.
About 27 years ago Mr. Adams re-
moved to Wyoming (NY), purchasing
the Watkins property on South
Academy street, and there Mrs.
Adams died in November, 1923.
Mr. Adams was particularly af-
flicted with deafness and has not
mingled in the social life of the
village, even, not attending the
church services for several years.

Mr. Adams is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Eugene Jones of
Utica, and Mrs. Hattie Blatchford
of Wyoming, nine grandchildren
and fourteen great grandchildren.

late home on South Academy St.,
Tuesday afternoon, at two o’c-
clock. The Rev. C. H. Otto of the
Baptist church had chare of the
services. The interment was in

Cemetery.
